Volunteers in Education

Frequently Asked Questions

What kind of qualification do I need to become a school volunteer?
A love for children! All volunteers are matched with a program or an activity based on their skills and interests. Training and supervision are provided by the appropriate staff at the school level.

How much time do I need to give to be a school volunteer?
Although most volunteers assist on a regular basis for one or more half days a week for the school year, some schools or a specific program may have needs which require shorter or longer time commitments.

Do I have a choice as to which school I am assigned?
We encourage volunteers to be involved in the school(s) within their local community or close to their place of employment/study. Your comfort level and preference as to age group, language, activity, and specific school will determine where you are placed.
